Photography for everyone who builds
The built environment is a long chain of businesses, and a photograph of a finished building is only the last link in it. The developer needs images that let the scheme, and the next scheme, be sold. The main contractor needs a record of the programme and proof of the standard of work. The facade or fit-out specialist needs the junction detail that shows their craft, which the wide shot flattens into nothing.
I photograph across all of it, in London and across the UK. That means one photographer, one eye, and one standard across a portfolio, rather than a patchwork of styles gathered from whoever happened to be available on the day.

Frequently asked
What is built environment photography?
It is photography of everything involved in making and occupying buildings, not just the finished architecture: the live site, the trades at work, the materials and components, the fit-out, and the completed scheme. It is commissioned by developers, contractors, sub-contractors, and manufacturers as well as by architects.
Do you photograph live construction sites?
Yes. I attend site with full PPE, work to site rules and inductions, and plan around the programme and the trades so the shoot does not hold up the job. Share any specific accreditation requirements when booking and I will make sure they are met.
Can several companies on the same project share the images?
Yes, and it is usually the cheapest way to do it. Each additional party licenses the images for 30 per cent of the invoice, agreed before invoicing. On a £1,200 shoot shared between four parties that works out at £570 each, rather than four separate shoots of one building.
Do you cover projects outside London?
Yes. London is where most of the work is, but I shoot across the UK and have photographed internationally, including in Vicenza and Paris. Travel is included within London Zones 1 to 4 and quoted by the mile or at cost beyond that.
