Documenting facades in context
Facade photography reads the elevation as a whole and in detail: the rhythm of the bays, the materiality of the cladding or brick, and the way the facade meets the ground and the sky. It is work I do often for architects, facade contractors, and materials manufacturers.
I shoot the full elevation cleanly, then move in close on the junctions, fixings, and finish that show the quality of the design and the build. Each frame is corrected so the material reads true in context.
